A Holistic Getaway to Westin Pushkar | #TGLPinPushkar

Hey you guys,

Been a while, huh? I’ve been busy working on some other things in life like moving into a new home… going on a cruise… playing the role of a content strategist at my workplace… No biggie… Just living a beautifully chaotic life!

So here I am, back to my blog… after what seems like ages (and probably is!). Apologies to those who have been eagerly waiting for a new post to go LIVE. I have a few drafts that need to be completed and see the day of light. Here’s hoping….

This post of course, is about my wellness getaway that almost felt impromptu… Considering I love a well planned trip. This trip to Pushkar happened – A place I hadn’t been to, until now. I was invited to check out the Westin property… a stunning resort and spa that gives its customers a wholesome, holistic experience to fall in love with.

The itinerary has been designed and curated by Disha Patani – Westin’s wellbeing advocate. Being a true fitness, yoga and healthy eating enthusiast – personally and professionally, she seems to fit the bill quite well. Now you’d wonder what does she have to do with this itinerary, right? Well, that’s why I am here… writing this post… to tell you all about it. 🙂

Built around six pillars of Well-Being, ie. – Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well, and Play Well, the main essence of Westin Hotels and Resorts is all about delivering a customised and unique experience that revolves around one’s well being.

An itinerary that gives guests a chance to experience wellness while on the move, it’s definitely a niche worth exploring and so I did…

We landed in Jaipur early in the morning and drove down to Pushkar. The resort and spa is ideally located to experience the various cultural and historical offerings of this vibrant city, including the annual Camel Fair, which attracts thousands of visitors from across the globe, the resort is a short drive of 9 kms from the Holy Lake as well as the famous Brahma Temple which dates back to the 14th Century. Pushkar is 11 kms away from Ajmer, famous for the shrine of Khwaja Muin-ud-din Chishti, the founder of Sufi Movement in India. Pushkar is 158 kms from the Jaipur International Airport, 53 kms from the Kishangarh Airport and is also connected by rail to Ajmer Junction.

The stunning property isn’t just another palace-inspired space that one expects anywhere in Rajasthan. I’m not sure if it’s a pro or con, because decor and interiors is such a personal preference for everyone. I personally thought it’s unique and exuded some major Goa vibes… Lush and extremely photogenic to say the least. Special mention to the people behind maintaining the landscaping here…

Westin Pushkar is surrounded by the beautiful Aravali range and is serene in every sense. About 20 minutes away from the main bustling markets of Puskar, it’s secluded, offers sunsets to fall in love with and a rejuvenating experience for those who seek it.

PRIVATE PLUNGE POOL VILLA

After a 3 hour long drive from Jaipur airport, we checked-in and got our very own private plunge pool villa. With an outdoor private pool that’s an extension of your super spacious room, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and chill under the clear blue skies. Sounds lovely, right? It was. The room too was super spacious and ideal for a family. It had a warm and inviting appeal with wooden finish elements across walls, including the floor. (say aye! if you are a sucker for wooden floors too!)

FLOATING BREAKFAST

So they have this really nice, laid-back concept about having  a leisurely breakfast in the comforts of not just your room… but your very own private pool. Taking ‘room service’ to the next level, it was worth a shot. Customise your tray with everything you need (eggs prepared your way, cereals, breads, Indian breakfast options and more) to make it a wholesome breakfast and you’ve got a meal fit for the king/queen in you. The only flip-side to this, personally speaking, would be when you want your breakfast to be nice and hot… the chances are that won’t happen, considering the journey from the kitchen to your room/pool is not a short one. But still… the experience is unique and certainly makes for a great Instagram post too!

CANDLE WAX MASSAGE AT HEAVENLY SPA

One of their signature spa treatments curated and specifically recommended by Disha Patani, I knew it was exactly what I needed to nurse the cold I was harbouring. Warm melted wax that turns into this magical potion sort of oil when rubbed into your skin, the subtle tingling sensation on your skin is perfect to rejuvenate not just your body, but also your mind… with its invigorating aroma and smooth texture. Heavenly Spa by Westin is one of my all time favourites and this one was no different. It continues to be a “hot” favourite!

SUPERFOODS MENU AT ‘SEASONAL TASTES’

Curated by Disha Patani, this distinctively healthy menu looks a tad bit too healthy for someone who isn’t highly into the fitness and eat clean phase. Personally, I wasn’t expecting the variety and combination of ingredients that came to us in the form of such beautifully concocted dishes. If eating healthy was going to be this good, I’d sign up for a membership, alright! Freshly sourced exotic and seasonal fruits and vegetables (which can be a challenge when you’re located in a place like Pushkar) is something to look forward to when you give this menu a try.

Now after a meal so lovely, it was time to go back to our rooms, relax for a bit and then leave for Jaipur. Home was calling and it was time to catch that flight back. We left the lush property with a happier heart and a super relaxed body and mind… what more can one ask for, right?

PS. Special mention to their signature drink – Gulkand Bahar. Although personally I am not a fan of anything rose flavoured, this one came as a pleasant surprise… Give it a shot!
