Been ages since I went LIVE with a post but I had some technical issues with my blog so it was beyond my control. But now that I am back, here’s a fresh post about my quick, weekend getaway to Hyderabad to check out the Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre Hotel.
It’s a mid-scale hotel (a tranquil oasis or urban retreat is what they describe it as) that’s ideal for business as well family trips. Equipped with 288 rooms, multi-cuisine restaurants, a well-stocked bar that regularly hosts LIVE music sessions, a massive pool that’s inspired by the shape of a fidget-spinner (yep! you read that right), a fulled equipped spa and wellness centre and other recreational activities, this property is everything you need or expect when you’re visiting the City of Pearls.
Well connected to the international airport as well as the IT & corporate hubs of HITEC City, it’s a go-to 5 star hotel that spells absolute convenience even though it’s actually tucked away in a lush landscape of blissful greenery.
Spread over 15 acres, the property is an ideal hot-spot for large scale events – whether it’s global business conventions, or big fat Indian wedding celebrations, or even if it’s about hosting popular film awards’ ceremonies… the space is designed with incredible features like multi-dimensional and adjustable theatres and banquet spaces and does absolute justice to any world class event.
THE ROOMS
The rooms offer a charming view of the pool, the city skyline or the beautifully tranquil green expanse so you can ideally pick the one that seems like your calling. I was given the lush greenery view and man what a view it was to wake up to… 🙂 The vibe of the rooms as a whole isn’t ornate or detailed but rather simplistic and cozy. Stocked up with all basic amenities, your stay is bound to be comfortable and of course, convenient.
FOOD EXCHANGE
A contemporary yet casual multi-cuisine restaurant that serves food from around the world, they’re known for their innovative take on popular dishes. When it came to our meals, the chefs in-charge would make sure we were pampered with local delights and ethnic flavours that define Hyderabad in the most authentic sense. From the quintessential Hyderabadi style biryani to the wholesome yet slow-cooked Haleem that made for some unforgettable meals, I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better culinary experience! PS. We also went on a Ramazaan Food Walk with some awesome local experts who know their Hyderabadi food and made sure we got a taste of it too during this auspicious season.
LE CAFE
If you want a relaxed yet artsy vibe to go with your cup of coffee (or maybe a cold beverage if that’s your thing) then Le Cafe is where you should find yourself. A cozy lil’ setup located along the corridor that connects the hotel and the convention centre, it’s where one can either chill and bond with friends, have a solo but soulful experience with probably a book in hand or even discuss business over some exotic coffees, fine teas, freshly baked goodies and other confectioneries.
PS. They have local artists’ works displayed for sale so one can always go back home with a gorgeous painting that probably appeals to their senses.
THE BAR
Drink up and make it a night to remember with Novotel’s in-house bar – very nonchalantly named “The Bar”. They have some interesting local flavours’ infused cocktails and some amazing finger foods like mini buttered masaaledaar idlis, some delicious coconut flavoured spicy prawns and more. We got the chance to explore authentic recipes but with a modern twist as we sipped on our favourite concoctions.
PS. They have LIVE music scenes from Tuesday to Saturday – 9pm onwards.
LA CANTINA
Having a poolside restaurant is a given when you have a property that spreads across acres of land and simply spells indulgence. La Cantina is exactly that. With various seating options to choose from depending on the vibe of your evening, the food served is delicious and mainly pan-Asian. If you’re looking for the perfect date night spot or a fun-filled party setup, this is where your search ends.
If you ever decide to take a trip to the city of Nizams, consider checking into this versatile property. It has so much to offer… there’s bound to be no dull moments.
