Hi guys! Long time, no post. I’ve been out and about and apologies to those who have been looking forward to this one. In the month of October, I had the wonderful chance to visit and experience Goa in a whole new way with some lovely people from the blogging and journalism community. We stayed at the new Ibis property in Calangute and I must say, if you’re a fan of fuss-free resort vibes, then this one’s right up your alley.
Ibis Styles Goa Resort is charming with its playful and vibrant vibes and is also kid-friendly by nature. So if you as a family are looking to stay at a resort that caters to children and their innumerable needs too, considering this one is certainly a good idea.
We had a really good time bonding over good food, the various facilities within this property and generally exploring our way around. We noticed a couple of massage chairs in the lobby area – the kind you’ll find at the airport lounge to massage your legs. I think it’s such a thoughtful idea for those who want to just chill and relax their legs after a long day of walking on the beach, exploring the local markets and of course, sightseeing in general.
With an airy workout zone (because referring it as a gym is so mainstream), one doesn’t need to lose touch with their workouts. There’s also an outdoor play area with different activities for the kids who want to have a good time within the premises. Like I said, a child-friendly resort in every sense, they’ve thought about pretty much everything that will cater to the lil’ ones whims and fancies.
I personally loved the pool side time I got. One doesn’t realise how much your body deserves to chill and unwind and for water babies like us, the pool was our ultimate solace. Considering the weather was not at its finest (it was October and the heat was evident), there was no better way to cool off. With a GoPro, some fun team-centric games and a couple of power packed laps in the pool, I knew this time was well spent. The prompt service we received by the poolside was commendable since we’d worked up quite an appetite by the end of it.
Now if I don’t talk about the rooms and the overall feels of the resort, then this blog post would seem rather incomplete. So here goes… The rooms are indeed cozy and well planned. The rooms aren’t as big and spacious but the advantage of a balcony that opens up to a poolside view is definitely refreshing. I could spend hours here… with a drink in hand and a book in another. When I first walked into the room, for a second there I wondered what brought about that nice breezy vibes I was totally digging and then realised it’s the wallpaper. Makes a world of a difference and it shows… Considering it adds so much character to the room.
The washroom is nice too. Now I don’t know how many of you are particular about your hotel/resort bathrooms, but I can be quite finicky. The layout can make or break my experience. This one, thankfully was well made. PS. The lighting was perfect and not too harsh.
Their in-house restaurant will cater to almost all your meal cravings. From traditional Goan delicacies to playing safe with pastas and pizzas, you know you won’t have any concerns to raise with regards to your meals.
In the end, this place leaves you feeling relaxed and of course rejuvenated… after all, what more do you need than a comfortable and clean bed, some great service and good food to keep all your senses happy!
