Top 5 Best Cheesecakes In Mumbai

Happy World Cheesecake Day Potpourriers! 🙂
If you’ve been following me closely on Twitter and my official Facebook page, you would’ve noticed an update I’d posted some time ago. Having keeping crazy schedules in recent times, the post on my top 5 highly recommended cheesecakes to devour in the city of Mumbai got invariably delayed. I wouldn’t want to apologize for it because now in retrospect, there couldn’t be a better day than today to publish this post! Right? 🙂
So here I am with an exclusive TGLP list (after a lot of eating and thinking) that I would like all of you to swear by. Having put my heart and soul, this is the sort of research I loved working on for obvious reasons and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with all of you. Here’s what took the cake! 😉
TGLP Loves! (in no particular order)

Baked Vanilla Cheesecake ~ Pizza Express

With a hint of vanilla essence in this cheesecake, I personally think it tastes super without the gelato that’s served with it. Nevertheless, a nice touch and a must-have whenever you’re at Pizza Express.

Raspberry + Oreo Mousse Cheesecake ~ Smoke House Deli

Although most people love the regular cheesecake at Smoke House Deli, I genuinely believe the Raspberry + Oreo Mousse Cheesecake is quite unique, terribly under-rated and needs to be noticed!

Baked Philadelphia Cheesecake ~ Cafe Mangii
Dense yet having that fluff factor is not easy to achieve, but Cafe Mangii makes it seem like a cake walk. Make sure you try it if you haven’t already because you’re going to love it!

Baked Cranberry Cheesecake ~ Cafe Basilico

Rich, warm and absolutely soulful, the Baked Cranberry Cheesecake has been an all time favourite for as long as I remember and what makes it even special is that it tastes consistently well even after so many years.

Ghevar Cheesecake ~ Masala Library

One of a kind in every possible way (including the desi way) the Ghevar Cheesecake is one of the most unusual and solitary cheesecakes I’ve tasted. Available exclusively at Masala Library, I highly recommend it.

Honourable Mentions

Blueberry Cheesecake ~ Indigo Deli
A lot of people who are cheesecake fans themselves would kill me if I didn’t mention Indigo Deli in this delicious list. But hey, I love their Blueberry Cheesecake and so will you! 😉

Baked Cheesecake ~ Cafe Zoe
I recently checked out the baked cheesecake with a dark chocolate crust (yep!) at Cafe Zoe and was pretty impressed. It’s here because innovation is always a good thing and I like to encourage the same.

Creme Brulee Cheesecake ~ Terttulia
Experience the best of both worlds with this lovely confluence of creme brulee and cheesecake where the whipped cream on the side is quite unnecessary. Available at the newly opened Terttulia, go check it out!

Souffled Cheesecake with Roasted Strawberries ~ The Table
Although I tasted this one a long time ago, I distinctively remember the flavour and delightful aftertaste which only made it simple for me to make a special mention of. Available at The Table, I bet you’ll love it too!

Baked Philadelphia Cheesecake ~ Cafe Moshe’s
For those of you who know what I am talking about here, would breathe a sigh of relief to see that this amazingly good cheesecake made it to the mentions if not the list. It was a close call; really!

I hope this list is helpful to all the foodies out there who can’t get enough of cheesecakes ever and also to those who might not be aware of the magical effects these sinful treats have! Being an ardent lover of cheesecakes myself, I knew I had to create this list. Celebrate World Cheesecake Day with my list and I know I did my job well. 🙂 Do share your listings with me in case there are other cheesecakes that you’d like me to try out!
P.S. I have heard a lot about the cheesecakes available at Candies and it might have even made it to my list but unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to try it sooner.
